Arwen Podesta, MD is a board certified adult psychiatrist with sub-specializations in addiction medicine, forensic psychiatry, as well as integrative and holistic medicine. She graduated from University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine, and then moved to New Orleans for a psychiatry residency at Louisiana State University and a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at Tulane University.
Dr. Podesta has spent the past two decades working in the public, private and academic sectors and is a well renowned speaker, traveling to teach and speak on the subjects of Addiction Medicine and Integrative Psychiatry. She has been voted one of New Orleans Magazine’s Top Doctors every year since 2012. As the chief medical officer of Longbranch Recovery, Dr. Podesta’s main focus is access to holistic addiction, dependency treatment and rational prescribing practices.
She is the current president of the Louisiana Chapter of the Society of Addiction Medicine and is also chair and co-creator of the New Orleans Forensic Mental Health Coalition.
